“When I got out of high school my family was very disappointed that I didn’t go right to college or even know what I wanted to do once I got out. But I got married and moved to Kentucky and found my way. I also realized that I didn’t want to work in retail for the rest of my life, like a lot of my coworkers. I wanted to do something I could be proud of.
Martinsburg College has made a huge impact on my life in such a positive way. There may have been some long homework nights but I overall I succeeded throughout the course. Now, I couldn’t be prouder.
I was hired for positions by two companies, right after I completed the Medical Office Administration program. Completion of the certification exam was not even a prerequisite for employment.
I am only doing payroll for now, but it is working from my own home. It’s definitely a step up from when I was working in retail. We move back to Maryland, as of next week, and I have a job that I won’t really need to leave the house for, when my husband goes and finishes his clearing process.
I don’t have to get up in the morning and worry about being late for work. That’s not for everyone but at the same time, I’m finally happy with where I am in life. Any other student that comes to this school, should be too – because in the end, it’s a huge accomplishment!”
