Healthcare Administration Technology Certificate Program

Young woman working with computerThe field of healthcare is constantly changing as new technologies become more accessible and integrated into mainstream culture. As a result of some of these technological advances, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act mandated that all healthcare facilities and doctors’ offices transition from paper medical records to electronic medical records. The use of electronic records will reduce the amount of prescription errors, decrease manual errors, and improve overall quality care for patients. The Healthcare Administration Technology Certificate program provides students with the knowledge and skills to function in most healthcare settings. Students will learn medical terminology, medical office procedures, electronic health records procedures and systems, software applications for the medical office and computer technologies. The overall program goal is to provide students with the entry-level skills needed to work with electronic health records systems and provide administrative support in a healthcare facility.
