Students must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent.

If the institution has reason to believe that a student’s high school diploma is not valid or was not obtained from an entity that provides secondary school education, the college will be required to evaluate the validity of the student’s high school completion. This may be done by contacting the state education department in the state where the high school is located, if this department has jurisdiction over the high school. If the institution is unable to evaluate the validity of the high school diploma through the state education department, the student will be required to submit acceptable documentation. Documentation may include the following:

  • Official transcripts from the high school indication graduation
  • Copy of the student’s DD214 form from the Department of Defense indicating high school graduation.
  • Copy of high school diploma or equivalent

Students who enroll in one of the associate degree programs will be conditionally accepted into the program until they complete 12 credits at Martinsburg College. Matriculation into the degree program occurs after the student has completed 12 credits and has enrolled into subsequent courses within the degree program or the student has been awarded at least 12 transfer credits. Students who wish to apply for Title IV funds will be able to do so after the completion of 12 credits or upon matriculation due to awarding of transfer credits.
