Pharmacy Technician with Healthcare Administration
Pharmacy technicians are healthcare professionals who perform a variety of duties that assist the pharmacist. These include filling prescription requests, ensuring that patient needs are met, gathering and entering patient information into databases, maintaining proper inventory and stock, and ensuring proper storage and security of medications. This program will provide students with the ability to develop knowledge and skills in communication and customer service, pharmacy law and ethics, pharmacy mathematics and dosage calculations, pharmacology, medical terminology as related to the pharmacy setting, preparation of medication, and processing prescriptions. Students will review best practices for inventory management as well as health insurance and billing procedures.
